Bayou Music Center History

The BMC opened in November 1997 under its original name of Aerial Theater. The theater is now owned by Live Nation and houses 2,400 people for shows. For concerts the capacity jumps to 2,815 with the addition of standing room. This 130,000 square foot indoor theater is located in downtown Houston, in the Bayou Place entertainment complex. Built to make the audience feel more intimately involved with the performance, this theater is perfect for shows of all kinds. The Bayou Music Center has held performances by a wide variety of performers such as The Wiggles, Elton John, The Killers, and Celtic Thunder to name a few.
